Out Patient Department

Vivekananda Ashrama at Shyamlatal is a branch of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, situated in the Champawat district of Uttarakhand. Inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s ideals, at Vivekananda Ashrama, completely free OPD medical services are provided to communities in the remotest areas of the Himalayan region in Uttarakhand. For over 110 years, villagers from a 50-kilometer radius have received respectful, high-quality basic medical treatment at our OPD, including consultations, pathology, X-rays, dental and more. The Ashrama also provides free transportation using Ashrama vehicles for patients from remote areas, removing barriers of distance and cost. Our devoted team of doctors, nurses, and volunteers serve in the spirit of “Service to humanity is service to God.” Each patient is treated with dignity, seva (selfless service). Rooted in the ideal “Serve Jiva as Shiva,” this sacred mission continues as a sanctuary of healing and love.
